BMRScope is a basal metabolic rate calculator: it estimates the calories your body burns at complete rest using the Mifflin-St Jeor, Harris-Benedict and Katch-McArdle formulas so you can compare the three. In practice, Mifflin-St Jeor weights weight, height, age and sex into a single linear equation, while Katch-McArdle works from lean body mass instead — showing all three makes the disagreement between models visible rather than hiding it. This page should be read with that tool in mind, because the limits described apply to what it computes.

Everything the tool works with — your weight, height, age, sex and body-fat percentage — is handled locally. It is usually reached for things like understanding why two BMR calculators disagree, and because nothing is transmitted a visitor can close the tab knowing no copy was made anywhere.

What this site is — and is not

The content on bmrscope.com exists to inform and educate. Every result is an estimate derived from your input, not a measurement or a piece of professional advice — and BMRScope makes no claim beyond that.

Limits of health estimates

The health calculators use population-level equations. Two people with identical inputs can have quite different true values, which is why a BMRScope estimate is not a measurement. These tools do not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease. Talk to a qualified clinician before changing your diet, supplementation or exercise, particularly during pregnancy or when managing a condition or medication.

No warranty of any kind

For BMRScope, the assumption that matters is that your input sits inside the range the tool is built for. Mifflin-St Jeor weights weight, height, age and sex into a single linear equation, while Katch-McArdle works from lean body mass instead — showing all three makes the disagreement between models visible rather than hiding it. Beyond that range — and wherever rounding, unit handling or browser rendering intrudes — the Site carries no warranty at all.
