Privacy Policy

BMRScope ("we", "us") operates bmrscope.com. This page explains what data we handle and the choices you have. The short version: your weight, height, age, sex and body-fat percentage are processed on your own device and never leave your browser.

Scope of this policy

BMRScope is a basal metabolic rate calculator: it estimates the calories your body burns at complete rest using the Mifflin-St Jeor, Harris-Benedict and Katch-McArdle formulas so you can compare the three. In practice, Mifflin-St Jeor weights weight, height, age and sex into a single linear equation, while Katch-McArdle works from lean body mass instead — showing all three makes the disagreement between models visible rather than hiding it. This page should be read with that tool in mind, because the limits described apply to what it computes.

Everything the tool works with — your weight, height, age, sex and body-fat percentage — is handled locally. It is usually reached for things like understanding why two BMR calculators disagree, and because nothing is transmitted a visitor can close the tab knowing no copy was made anywhere.

What you enter

All processing happens on your device. Your input is handed to the page's own script, a result comes back, and that is the whole exchange. No request leaves your machine, and no copy of what you entered exists once the tab is closed.

Technical data gathered automatically

Our host and any analytics we run record routine request data — the kind every web server sees, such as IP address, user agent, referrer and which pages were opened. That data serves maintenance and abuse prevention; it is never combined with the values you enter.

Advertising, cookies and your choices

We set a cookie only to remember whether you have dismissed the cookie notice. Third-party advertising partners, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can control personalized advertising in your browser settings or through Google's ad settings. Blocking cookies does not affect the tool: the calculation requires none.

What our statistics cover

Usage statistics, when collected, are anonymous and aggregated. They tell us which pages are useful; they do not identify you and they never include your input to the calculator.

Sensitive health figures

Measurements such as weight, height and body-fat percentage are personal, and here they are treated that way by default: the page reads them to produce an answer and holds no copy beyond the tab you happen to be looking at.

Retention and security

Because your inputs are never transmitted, there is no store of personal measurements to retain or protect. Standard security practice applies to the site itself, including HTTPS on every page.

Under-13 users

Nothing here targets users under 13. If a child has sent personal details through the site, tell us and we will delete them.

Your rights

Privacy law in some regions gives you the right to see, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal data held about you. In practice we hold almost nothing tied to you, since calculator input never reaches us, but any request you make will be taken seriously.

Changes to this policy

The policy is kept current with the site. When something material changes, the date at the top is updated so the revision is visible.
