BMR Charts by Age (18–80)
Age enters the metabolic equations as a straight subtraction, but its effect is easiest to see when everything else is held still. This library dedicates one page to each age: four body-composition levels, both classic formulas, and the five standard activity factors turned into daily calories. Pick an age below to open its reference table.
Frequently asked questions
How is each age page built?
Every page fixes age and sweeps four BMI levels for a reference man and woman, computing Mifflin-St Jeor and Harris-Benedict from the same coefficients the main calculator uses — no rounded lookup tables, every value derived on the page.
Which age should I pick?
The age a person has already reached. BMR falls by roughly 5 kcal per year of age in the equation, so the nearest page gives the closest baseline before height and weight are applied.
The BMRScope calculator computes all three formulas — including Katch-McArdle from body-fat percentage — for your exact measurements.
